Search your suburb
Profiles show photo, suburb, qualification, badges and hourly rate before you pay anything. Filter by availability, short notice or what you need, from a Saturday night to a weekly kinder pickup.

Message and interview
A membership opens messaging and job posts. Post a job and it goes to matched educators in that evening's digest. Chat, ask for documents, meet if you like.

Book and pay them directly
You agree the hours and the rate with your sitter and pay them directly. We never handle the money and never take a cut of their rate.

02How we check
One thing checked by us. The rest you check at interview.
We sight every sitter's qualification certificate and confirm the name on it matches the profile before it goes live. That is the one claim we stand behind. Everything else on a profile is the sitter's own declaration, and like any babysitting site we ask you to meet in person and see the documents before you leave your children with anyone.
Sitters are independent. You engage and pay them directly. Gold Star Sitters is an introduction service and does not provide insurance for sitters or parents.

The things parents ask first.
Do I have to pay before I can see who is available?
No. Anyone can search by suburb and see each sitter's photo, first name, suburb, qualification badges and rate. You only pay when you want to message someone or post a job.
How do I pay the sitter?
Directly, at the rate shown on their profile, however you and the sitter agree. Gold Star Sitters never handles that money.
What does qualified actually mean here?
A Certificate III, Diploma or Bachelor in early childhood, or a teaching degree. We sight the certificate and confirm the name on it matches the profile. It is checked against the ACECQA list if we do not recognise it.
Can I find someone for tonight?
Sitters can switch on a short-notice flag that means they can do today or tomorrow. Filter by it, or post an urgent job and we email it to those sitters straight away.

Melbourne's inner east at launch, 36 suburbs around Surrey Hills from Kew to Mitcham and Doncaster to Glen Waverley, with sitters listed within 15 km of each suburb page. More areas as the pool grows.
